NKS Volunteering Project

NKS trained ten Community Equality Champions from the South Asian communities and mentored them to become

effective community workers. They were on placement at NKS, volunteering with different experienced community staff,

and benefitted from working with them at NKS. Volunteering is a great way to learn the skills that you need and to gain

the experience that employers look for when applying for vacancies. The volunteers that were placed throughout NKS

e.g. NKS Nursery, group work, family support work and outreach work etc were supervised and supported during their

placement. They really enjoyed the work and learnt as they went along.
